Need suggestions/willing to share!

I'll be arriving from Canada for the conference and then staying on after in Byron for a few days. I've never been to the area and have no idea where to look for accommodation, but I'd prefer something central and walkable and I'd like to avoid drunken 20-something backpackers and anything that smacks of a dorm! If anyone has good suggestions or would like to share an apartment or AirBnB with a 40-something introvert, let me know. cheyes at ualberta dot ca.
